Our curriculum provides the children with beginning social skills to be successful in school. As the children prepare for preschool, we teach them how to be a part of a group, and how to follow rules and routines. We work on interpersonal skills and sharing. Our small group time incorporates the beginning academic skills of math, science, literacy and fine arts that will prepare each child to graduate into our preschool classroom. We also begin “potty training” in our Grasshopper room. Children thrive in this small class setting of 4:1 children to teacher ratio. View a sample schedule

Our teacher-directed small and large group times provide an evidence-based curriculum with a hands-on fun approach to learning. Children are provided the basic skills and knowledge to be successful in school. Our teachers emphasize social skills, as well as compassion and empathy. View sample schedule

The Curriculum
The most important objective of our early childhood curriculum is to help children become enthusiastic learners and creative explorers. Children’s Learning Academy’s goal is to teach children to become independent, self-confident and inquisitive, laying a foundation for a lifetime of learning. From the activities we plan, to the learning toys and materials we provided, the daily schedule and the way staff interact with children, the Children’s Learning Academy environment is designed to promote a successful start in school for every child.
Children’s Learning Academy utilizes the “Creative Curriculum”, the country leading scientifically-based, comprehensive curriculum for infants and young children. The “Creative Curriculum” balances both teacher-directed and child-initiated learning, with an emphasis on responding to children’s learning styles and building on their strengths and interests. Our curriculum integrates high-quality child assessment, educational development, and family connection resources to create a well-rounded program that addresses the needs of early childhood education for children and their families. Our dynamic curriculum combines the latest research and innovative ideas into our approach to learning. We honor creativity and respects the role that each teachers plays to make learning exciting and relevant for every child.
The "Creative Curriculum” promotes positive outcomes for all children, including English as a second language learners, children with disabilities, and children who are gifted. Our curriculum identifies goals in the following developmental areas:
- Social: To help children feel comfortable in school, trust their new environment, make friends, and feel they are a part of the group.
- Emotional: To help children experience pride and self-confidence, develop independence and self-control, and have a positive attitude.
- Cognitive: To help children become confident learners by letting them try out their own ideas and experience success, and by helping them acquire learning skills such as the ability to solve problems, ask questions, and use words to describe their ideas, observations, and feelings.
- Physical: To help children increase their large and small muscle skills and feel confident about what their bodies can do.
